Bonjour les Kossack! I'm an American expat living in a tiny town in Upper Provence (as of this writing, less romantic than it sounds, thanks to scorpions, flooding, poor road conditions, and did I mention scorpions -- in the house ?). Anyway, thanks to being married to a techno-geek, we've had a VOIP (voice over internet protocol) telephone enabling us to call the States (and allowing our Stateside kids, family, and friends, plus the occasional drunken wrong number to call us) for a relatively cheap flat monthly fee ever since moving here in 2001.
As I am 6-9 hours ahead of the continental U.S., I am using my time this morning to deal with the necessary chores of the day before the polls open across the Pond. As soon as it's appropriate to start calling people to GOTV, I will do so. I hate talking on the phone, but how can I not try to make a difference today, however small?
